Though many family law attorneys advertise experience in this area, mistakes are made regularly regarding pensions, survivor benefit plans, jurisdiction, and the Lautenberg Act. FAP proceedings are commonly used as a strategic weapon to gain leverage against the Service Member and any Family Law proceeding must navigate the Family Law process in conjunction with the Military Regulations.
